A Dangerous Journey is a cutting edge interactive animated project about three children classified as “undesirables” who were interned at the Rivesaltes concentration camp in France during World War II: A Sephardic Jewish boy, a refugee from the Spanish Civil War, and a young Roma woman from Alsace.
Each story has a unique animation style, brought forth by a talented director of animation. Watched together, A Dangerous Journey provides a moving, multifaceted exploration of the dangers of “othering.”
The project challenges a younger generation (14+) to reflect on dehumanization, the meaning of solidarity, and how the echoes of the past speak to our present.
The project received the Ibermedia Next Development Fund, the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) Fund for Short Film Production and the Claims Conference New Media Fund. With the participation of CREA SGR and Elkargi SGR.
